Guild Charter of Murder of Crows (v. 3.0)

”Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to raid with Murder of Crows. This is your raid leader speaking. We hope you enjoy your raid with the Crows until the end of raid time. There are no safety exits, but there is usually a Paladin or Warlock around you can blame for almost everything. Refreshments are served if there is a cook or vending mach – er, Mage around. If you feel sick of our stupid jokes, the nausea bag should be under your seat. In case you feel you need extra service or loot, feel free to blame it on the raid leader or any of the officers – at your own risk.

During the trip, we promise to serve you lot of stupid humor, some quality wipes, and probably the best way to raid any given Azeroth dungeon we might come across. Raid time will be about four hours, usually from 20.00 server. We will be arriving to our destination within the next few minutes, so hang on to your seat...”

So, what's it all about?

Murder of Crows is most definitley all about the following:

  • A group of friends - we don't all live in the same place, most of us have not met face to face, but friends with a shared passion we are nonetheless
  • PVE raiding - we are not an "Every night, All night" raiding guild, we have set times, based around a mainly adult guild. Some members play more, some play less, but the focus is on progression through PVE content. PVP activity is present, but if you are looking for a solely PVP focussed guild, you are on the wrong website.
  • Having fun
  • Talking to each other
  • Breaking the barriers that are put on a "non-hardcore" guild
We are not about

  • Free loot
  • Gearing up alts
  • A free ride
  • "Is this [crap item] better than this [crap item]?"
  • Boosting
  • Rick Astley

What are the people like?

The people are more than likely.......like you if you are reading this. Friendly, approachable, non eliteist. People out to have fun. Some are old, some are young, some girls, some boys. We are part of the 11 million strong community that plays this game. We're WoW players.

*The following caveats apply:

  • Our tanks are: Surly, aggressive, sure of themselves, monosyllabic
  • Our healers are: Paranoid, twitchy, unsure of themselves, vocal
  • Our DPS are: DRUNK, STONED, UNCOORDINATED, RANDOM
OK, all sounds great so far, what about loot?

We operate a simple policy:

Loot council approach with tracking on wins

If you are interested in an item, you express your interest by linking your current gear in raid chat.
The raid leader/master looter considers the upgrade value to the guild and invites opinon from the Officers.
Points taken into consideration are -

  • Loot wins for an individual over a period of time - tracked and viewable by all online At the Crows Custom Loot Tracker - Don't be fooled, it is NOT a DKP system - it's a tracker
  • Loot Ilevel vs the replaced gear Ilevel (we do not replace blues with high Ilevel gear)
  • Set bonuses
What's the crack with the guild bank?

We have 6 tabs on our guild bank
Access to the tabs of the guild bank is granted via the rank system, and is mainly functional in it's approach.
When items are withdrawn, a fair amount must be paid into the bank. Ninjas are not very popular. If you are not sure what a fair amount would be, ask an officer :)

Who are the Management of the guild?

  • GM = Banished
  • Supported by Arbiters = Baulghbag, Erockzorator, Safiyar,Saiyann & Roseroth
  • Supported by Standard Bearers and Lorekeepers

What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swan compared to a laden one?
Different. (Add this answer to your application as a proof that you actually read this.)

What should I expect from MoC?

  • Regular, organised raids
  • A good atmosphere
  • The chance to progress with people of a like mind
  • Fun
  • Occasional drama
Raid Times

Monday and Thursday main raids
8.00pm server=invites
8.30pm server = raid starts
12.00 server = raid end (sometimes extends when boss kill is on the go)

Other raids happen nearly every night

What does MoC expect of me?

  • A progressive attitude
  • An ability to wipe without complaint
  • A sense of humour
  • A love of Heavy Metal \m/ (insert whichever music taste you like here :) )
If you like what you see, put in an application. Good applications will be considered even on closed classes.

Look forward to seeing you online :)

Yours.

Murder of Crows
